Learn MoreBuilding physical literacy Capacity
The project builds physical literacy capacity in our community by training passionate leaders in the childcare, recreation, and education sectors who work with children in the early years (0 to 6 years). These “Master Trainers” are given the knowledge and tools to incorporate physical literacy into their programming, as well as train their colleagues with in four pre-made physical literacy modules.
Early years’ physical literacy expert, Dr. Dawne Clark, facilitated the interactive 2-day workshop in Thunder Bay four times between October 2018 and February 2020. After completing the training, participants received a certificate of completion for the Master Trainer Workshop. Participants gained knowledge, resources, and tools to be a mentor and build physical literacy.
